great beginning lessons |

I have a degree from a major art college and this book is my preference for teaching drawing. The technique and lessons are simple. I've used this book with 5 of my children already. The three oldest now have exceptional drawing skills and they started with this curriculum. Start with this book to get a good understanding of perspective, you'll see a difference in their drawing skills in no time.

A great little art book that anyone can use |

This is a great little art book that anyone can use. We purchased at the recommendation of a friend. We've homeschooled 7 children over the years (oldest is 25) and it worked a little differently with each one, but now that our youngest, 7, is interested in drawing, we're going to get another. The children learned perspective, shading etc. and mom did, too! Lessons start small and get more involved as you go along. For the price, you can't beat the results!

We have spent many happy hours iimplementing the simple techniques in this drawing textbook. It is amazing what you can draw after just learning the foreshortened square and the foreshortened circle.
I love the simplicty and the price of this program that has been a help to all age levels in my family, including me!
If this product has any short-comings it is the lack of life-like drawing techniques.

Did not keep the children's attention |

Several friends and I purchased this book when we wanted to have an art coop. Multi-grades were going to use the book. We found the book did not keep the children's attention. The first few lessons were easier but as the lessons went on, we found the lesson instructions were harder to follow and teach. We discontinued using the book and chose different art activities as the children were discouraged from drawing.

I've purchased other art programs and the kids have enjoyed them as well. But by far this was the simplest and most economical. I was impressed with the results.
