Brain Candy
Djeco Collages is more than just an extraordinary craft kit for little ones, though it is certainly that. To us, the huge appeal of the Djeco Collages kit is how it engages both sides of the brain to create art worth framing. The spiral-bound wordless instruction booklet leads your child step-by-step through the process: first the whiskers, then the nose, and soon the entire animal is complete. Your little ones will be challenged to match the appropriate number of pieces and place them correctly to finish the picture.

Eclectic Art
Djeco Collages is a terrific kit to reinforce fine motor skills, visual discernment, counting, and logical sequencing. The result? Eclectic art that is both hip and retro and is suitable for hanging in the playroom or at the office. Djeco Collages comes with four large, beautifully illustrated, printed images - a bear, a rabbit, a cat, and a mouse - on very thick cardstock and chunky, colorful, pre-cut cardboard pieces with lots of fun accessories, like the always child-pleasing wiggly-eyes. The felt, paper, eyes, and thick cardboard pieces are organized into small envelopes to avoid confusion. Djeco Collages also includes a glue stick and a detailed, illustrated, step-by-step instruction book, all packaged into a sturdy gift box. For ages four and older.

Observation and Following Directions December 29, 2013
    Reviewer: Sunflower S.
Our family LOVES Djeco art kits! First this kit offers observational skill building...what do you see that's missing? It secondly offers the opportunity for a strong-willed child to follow directions...or the picture will not turn out as pictured. This kit is certainly age appropriate for 2 1/2 year old to about 4 1/2 year olds when you do the gluing and they do the work of figuring out where the pieces go.

    Fun in a box! September 10, 2013

My 6 year old is very creative, and not always good at following instructions. this set doesn't really leave room for changing the designs so its great because it reinforces that following directions can produce beautiful, orderly results. There is a lot to be learned from other's artwork and how it goes together. this is not an art class, but its just what I bought it for, fun in a box! great for taking along with you because everything you need is inside. no scissors or glue needed. we will be taking the rest with us on our road trip coming up. LOVE IT

Great way to teach sequencing October 30, 2012

This product was great for my 5 year old daughter. The individual pre-cut pieces were packaged for each project, so there was no need to sort through tons of little pieces. The guidebook gave step by step instructions in graphic format that teaches sequencing. It is a neat way to help children learn to follow directions to get to an end result, and you wind up with a pretty nice piece of artwork to look at. My daughter was very proud that she had put it together herself.

Fun, but not worth it August 27, 2012

My son tried these today. He sat down and completed all four within an hour. He had fun, but it was not challenging, and it didn't require any creativity. In fact, because it was all shown in place, it discouraged creativity. The photos show where each piece should go, and there was no place for any individualization. My son is proud of the work he did, and it was a good one hour distraction. I would recommend this as a good travel entertainment - on the plane or in a car, this would be good for some quiet work. There is very little mess since everything is already cut and adhered with a glue stick. I wouldn't buy this again.

    Doesn't encourage creativity July 3, 2012
    Reviewer: MT Mama
Although my 5 year old daughter happily did this project and was excited at the end result, it only took her about 3 minutes to complete. The pieces are already cut out and ready to go. While this makes the collages simple and easy for the parent, it doesn't allow for any creativity on the child's part. They are supposed to follow simple directions to glue on the select pieces that come with that animal. I was pretty disappointed and will be looking for other art projects where my kids can work with different mediums and do their own collage. Also the glue did not work very well, pieces kept falling off the board.
