Critical & Creative Thinking Activities, Grade 6 - By Evan-Moor

The relationship between critical and creative thought can be misunderstood. But in fact, profound thinking requires both imagination and intellectual ideas. To produce excellence in thinking we need to engage our children in a curriculum that overlaps the logical and the imaginative sides of thinking.

Forty-six Units
Critical & Creative Thinking Activities' forty-six theme-based units will give your child lots of practice thinking in a variety of ways. From brainteasers and logic puzzles to mazes, Venn diagrams, and secret codes, Critical & Creative Thinking Activities has a wealth of mind-boggling activities that your child will enjoy.

Logical Thinking, Problem Solving...
Exercises include thinking fluency, originality, generalizing, patterning, and problem solving. Every lesson is based on grade-appropriate themes and is correlated to state standards. Published by a secular company, Critical & Creative Thinking Activities may include a unit or two that might not be appropriate for all families. Imagination and reason function best in tandem, and Critical & Creative Thinking Activities delivers just that.

Another outstanding component of Timberdoodle's 2017 Sixth-Grade Curriculum Kit!

Forty-six lessons complement language arts, science, and social studies curricula.

Critical & Creative Grade 6 February 2, 2017
Reviewer: Kadence, age 12 from Martinez, GA
Might be too hard for a 6th grader. But I still really like the creative parts. My average time in finishing a lesson is probably about 15 minutes. The 'critical' part of it would probably be 7th grade math. Still a really great purchase, and I would recommend it for your kid!!!

This book has some really great activities and with all the topics, it will be a winner with almost all children. Some of the activities were great for further conversations.

Definitely 6+ March 4, 2015
Reviewer: MandyJHoffman
This book could definitely be used for above 6th grade. While the exercises are very practical and apply to the students life rather than being abstract skills, some of the lessons are tricky to say the least and do not have clear directions. This book is designed for the classroom setting which makes some of it a bit challenging to use in the homeschool setting. While I really did like and appreciate this book, it was not as easy for my student to use independently as I had hoped it would be. If you have time to do something beyond the required curriculum this is worth the purchase, but if you're new, or struggling, you may want to just focus on what is necessary.

Lots of thinking going on January 14, 2013
Reviewer: Robyn
I love logic problems, especially during vacations. This book has some for my daughter as well as lots of other exercises to make you think. My daughter is just as good at logic problems as I am. I let my daughter use the internet to search for answers to those that she does not know. This book is great at making you think, come up with your own ideas and reasonings. It's a great "makes you think" workbook.

Fun, Short, and Educational May 31, 2012

Great item to help 'round' out your curriculum. The biggest bonus for me is that it exercises your child's logical thinking process.
My child likes this because it doesn't take long to complete each day and the variation in themes is nice. I like this because I occasionally hear, "I don't get this." In which I respond, "good, reread and think about how to solve this."
