Djeco Finger TracksI love these kits! Djeco Finger Tracks is both practical and inspiring. Djeco knows that children prefer to create only after they have some basic skills. Beginning Academic Skills
Beginning Academic SkillsCutting and pasting, tracing and drawing… this combination of I Can Paste!, Kumon's Are You Ready for Kindergarten? Pencil Skills, I Know My Alphabet!, and I Know My Colors & Shapes! provides hours of productive entertainment. While developing the fine-motor skills he will need for writing, your child will also learn his alphabet and colors, as well as practice following directions. One of the often-overlooked but really important things he'll learn with this series is the vital skill of staying on task while completing a worksheet. The bite-sized activities are not too hard or long for a preschooler, and staying on task is a skill he'll need for the rest of his life! These four titles are well-loved by kids and parents alike and are outstanding books, worthy of any child's time and effort.
Beleduc Colorful Caterpillars Lacing Beads
Beleduc Colorful Caterpillars Lacing BeadsWinner of many awards, the Beleduc Colorful Caterpillars Lacing Beads set (formerly titled Rondo Vario) excels because of the many ways it can be used. Initially, it can be used as a free-play threading activity. The wooden tip ensures success with even the chubbiest of fingers. When basic threading becomes easy, you're ready to introduce the game. Roll only the color die, name the color, and help your toddler find the matching color. Take turns building your colorful caterpillar. At a later session, only use the shape die to build your caterpillars. Step-by-step, you will be building color and shape recognition and the concept of taking turns.
Bloco Construction Set Bloco Construction Set
This one-of-a-kind construction kit allows your child to build simple, flat models and extraordinary 3-D animals such as a zebra or cheetah. Each set comes with detailed illustrated designs, and sets can be combined to allow the creation of even more interesting creatures. Colorful and appealing when completed, these are not simple slap-together kits.
Language Lessons
Language Arts
When you think of grammar, do you think of endless memorization and lengthy, tedious workbooks, suitable only for the most meticulous older student? If so, you're not thinking of Language Lessons! Language Lessons is the finest implementation of the Charlotte Mason method of instruction we've seen. The short daily lesson may include a picture study with a full-color painting, basic phonics instruction, poetry appreciation, narration, or copy work. This is a great way to cultivate language skills in your youngster, long before he can read.
What Your Preschooler Needs To KnowWhat Your Preschooler Needs To Know
How do you prepare your non-reader to love reading? Whet his appetite by reading to him! What Your Preschooler Needs to Know read-alouds include twenty-eight poems, thirty songs, thirty-one science-themed readings, and more on history, art, and stories. By sitting down with your child and reading three to four selections a week, you'll cover lots of basic information and bring up many different topics to discuss.

PurpllinkerPurpllinker
The Purpllinker is difficult to categorize. The coordination, reasoning, and problem-solving skills it requires place it squarely into the construction category. However, the subject matter, extreme portability, and emphasis on prereading skills make it seem more like a thinking skills game. Regardless of how you classify it, the Purpllinker is a very valuable tool for a preschooler. Looking much like great-grandpa's old-fashioned carpenter's ruler, but smaller, softer, safer, and easier to maneuver, the child-friendly Purpllinker, with its seven arms, will hold its shape, allowing your child to create the entire alphabet. By forming letters with the Purpllinker, your child will be building small-muscle memory and fine-motor skills.
Kid-O A to Z Magnatab Magnetic Writing Tablet
Kid-O A to Z Magnatab Magnetic Writing TabletA to Z Magnatab is the ideal tool to help your child focus on forming letters correctly and consistently. Your child will eagerly trace each letter with the magnetic stylus just to see and hear the little metal balls snap to the surface to make the letter. Then, to further help him develop a feel for each letter, lightly trace over the letters with the tip of a finger and the metal balls clatter back into the A to Z Magnatab base. One tool, two approaches to teach children how to write the alphabet.
Lift the Flap Picture Atlas

Lift-the-flap Picture Atlas
Lift-the-flap Picture Atlas is a unique geography title. Each of the six two-page spreads feature an entire continent, while an overview of the globe and Antarctica each get one page. The pages are liberally sprinkled with charming illustrations and a ton of flaps just begging to be lifted. Underneath each are interesting facts, kid-friendly scenes of life in another place, or even sweet animal pictures. A giant world map is also included -- why not hang it on your child's bedroom wall or above his school area, then add pictures of far-away relatives or your church's missionaries? This is another secular title, but there is very little that we would have had concerns about, even in our super-conservative family.
Playfoam Combo 4-Pack
PlayfoamAward-winning Playfoam is a perfect first sculpting material for young children, not only because of what it will do, but more importantly to busy homeschooling moms, what it won't do. Playfoam is a colorful, very lightweight substance that sticks to itself but not to your child, your carpet, or your couch. One of the safest modeling compounds you can place in the hands of your child, the tiny sticky foam beads never dry out, so don't panic if it is left forgotten on a windowsill for a few days. Amazingly soft, Playfoam can be stretched, molded, kneaded, and shaped again and again by even the smallest of hands. Encouraging open-ended play, the unique texture of Playfoam strengthens finger muscles so vital for your child's developing prewriting skills.
A Street Through Time

A Street Through Time
Preschoolers are not ready for an in-depth history curriculum, but the concept of things happening before they existed is so fantastic they almost can't believe it! A Street Through Time offers a look at the same street from early history until now. This is a wonderful concept, to be sure, but what we loved was the illustrations. Lovingly detailed, each person obviously has a story just waiting to be told. We can see hours spent studying the pictures and making up stories to go with each person. The (discrete) glimpses into bathrooms at different times are just one detail that is sure to intriuge your child. As this is a secular title, our family would not have read this book without discussing the sadness of the idol worship appearing in places, but frankly, idolatry is so prevalent today that the discussion is absolutely vital anyway.
Usborne Then and Now
Usborne Then and NowUsborne Then and Now will give your preschooler a gentle, pictorial introduction to the concept of history and how society changes over time. The stunning pictures depict two parallel scenes of "then" and "now" -- side-by-side depictions from different times in history. With visual comparisons between today's fashions, transportation, and work or family life, and those of the late 1800s or early 1900s, Then and Now gives you and your child lots of opportunity to discuss the differences and how they came about. Usborne Then and Now will help your preschooler grasp the idea of history and will whet his appetite to know more.
Mathematical Reasoning Beginning
Mathematical Reasoning Beginning 2
Mathematical Reasoning Beginning is a highlight for this age. The activities are simple, engaging, and colorful. Whether it is drawing a line from the dog to the correct number of bones or crossing out the pancakes mom and dad ate for breakfast to determine how many are left, this book is a perfect introduction to the basics of math.

Primary Science KitPrimary Science Kit
We were smitten the first time we saw Learning Resources Primary Science Kit, and apparently we weren't the only ones. Winner of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio 2010 Gold Seal Award, Primary Science is a collection of ten durable, plastic, easy-to-grip replicas of real-life science lab tools. Simple science experiments sized just right for smaller, clumsier hands, these tools are not just for play. Each chunky tool actually works. Tiny bugs are magnified, measurement markers are accurate, and the sturdy tweezers add a dimension that less extensive sets leave out. The ten colorful, double-sided activity cards encourage scientific inquiry and curiosity. Your children will have a blast pouring, mixing, combining, and measuring their concoctions.
Big Book of Play and Find Out Science Projects

Big Book of Play and Find Out Science Projects
Teaching science to your three- and four-year-olds has never been easier. Using the Big Book of Play and Find Out Science Projects as a guide, you and your child will explore physical science, nature, bugs, and the human body in a way that will engage and excite. Loads of simple experiments using ordinary household products will explain important concepts like why we wear seatbelts, why our bones are hard, how butterflies drink, and why cats' eyes glow. This age group especially learns basic scientific concepts best with hands-on experiments and Big Book of Play and Find Out Science Projects does not disappoint with over fifty easy-to-do activities.
Sticker Dressing: Heroes
Sticker Dressing:Heroes More than a sticker book, Sticker Dressing: Heroes is a collection of vignettes about men willing to risk their lives for a cause. From secret agents in their bullet-proof vests tracking down thieves to paramedics in reflective stripes aiding a mountain rescue, your child will dress each hero in his protective clothing and learn how each copes with his specific situation. Sticker Dressing: Heroes contains over 200 stickers to choose from, including a paratrooper's camouflage outfit, an explorer's rubber immersion suit, and a stuntman's fireproof leggings. Social studies, art, and fine-motor skills all in one activity book -- how fun is that?
Jumbo GRIP Graphite No 2 EcoPencil 2-pack Jumbo GRIP Graphite No 2 EcoPencil 2-pack
A standard-sized pencil is often difficult for tiny, chubby fingers to grasp. These Jumbo Pencils make gripping easier with their large surface area. Plus, they are made by the highly-reputed Faber-Castelle, so you know that the quality is far above par.
Bambino Starter
Young children are almost always hands-on learners. That is why your child picks up and touches everything. It may look destructive, but it is how God has programmed him to learn. And because at this age your Bambino Lukchild will learn more easily using this preferred learning style, we recommend adding a hands-on thinking program to your curriculum to add balance and success.

The six large and sturdy Bambino tiles have a familiar picture symbol on one side and a colorful dotted pattern on the back. To use them, simply place the open controller on top of the workbook page and have your child put the tiles on the upper half of the board, matching up the pictures. Then, help him solve the puzzle, moving each tile down to its proper place on the board below. When your child finishes the exercises in one of the books, he closes the lid and flips the controller. The colorful dotted pattern on the back will let him know if his answers were right. Confused? Follow this link and watch a quick video. Because this program requires the repeated handling of tiles, your child's fine-motor skills are strengthened and his eye-hand and brain coordination are greatly enhanced. Our PreK Curriculum includes the Bambino Starter plus these three add-on packs to excercise your child’s hands-on thinking: Visual Perception Pack 1, Critical Thinking Pack 1, and the Theme-based Learning Animals Pack.
