Timberdoodle's review
This is a simple project book that has incomplete drawings that need to be finished. Each page shows a small, completed picture in the corner of the page. The balance of the page shows the same image with parts of the lines missing, but with critical intersections and line ends to define the image to be drawn.

Designed by a teaching dad for his home-taught son, these "technical art" lessons offer an interesting challenge for children to draw what they see. With no formal teaching, your child will be motivated to take on his first drawings, and he will be rewarded with almost instant success.

This book of thirty-eight projects will be a great starting place before completing more formal instruction in manual drafting. This first volume focuses on flat two-dimensional line art and is suitable for children as young as five years old. Our whole family loves this series.

Art October 26, 2011
Reviewer: Julainn Toews from Grifton, NC United States
I am so happy to have found Timmberdoodle. We have a child in 3rd grade that is attending a private christian school. She has been so bored and that creates behavioral problems. We were looking for something to do quietly in her spare time that would futher her artistic gift. Today we recieved our order. I am excited about her doing it. I already know that some of my other 4 children would love to do it to. I would like to try it, too. A simple fun thing to do that doesn't need glue scissors etc. just a pencil and ruler. Juliann

Practical and Fun! October 3, 2011

We bought this as a "starter" for my son who was interested in technical drawing and we ended up buying the complete set for all of our children.  We also bought a set of Prismacolor pencils for them to embellish their drawings and they loved it.  I often find my son going back and adding to his drawings with the colored pencils.  An added bonus was seeing my son's penmanship improve along with his sketches!  Great find!

Complete a Sketch Volume 1 October 26, 2010
Reviewer: Misty Marr from Buckeye, AZ United States
This is a great way to introduce your child to technical art. This is not a book, but rather a sketch pad, and each page can be easily removed.  The cover serves as a folder.  This starts out super easy, so that a young child can start, and it gradually works up to more difficult.  But it doesn't get TOO hard in this volume.  A big plus is that every page is reproducible.  You can use this over and over, through all your children, and they can repeat each one as often as needed. THAT MAKES IT A GREAT VALUE!

Affordable and very fun! April 5, 2010

My girls loved this, and it really is fun for a wide age range. Your kids won't realize this is "learning" because they might just beg you to do it!

Our children (7, 9 and 12) LOVE these books!! October 23, 2008

I home school three boys ages 11, 10, and 8.  They love this product!  It teaches a practical skill and is fun.  I started out using it for art once a week and the boys asked if they could do it more often.  I have recommended it to all my friends.
