Yes, you will find labs in the Accreditation Program for each curriculum.
Most labs require items that can be easily found in your local store or around the house. We intentionally avoided filming any scenes in a laboratory or with people in white lab coats as we felt that this could create an unnecessary distance between science and students. As a result, nearly every lab and experiment can be conducted with materials that are readily available.
We intentionally limit the use of math in the courses to ensure that both students and parents can fully enjoy the science content. The focus was on highlighting the fascinating aspects of science, while leaving the more challenging mathematical concepts for later study if desired.
Balancing simple equations is the most math-intensive topic covered in the films, and we also introduce the concept of the mole, its development, and its practical applications.
When used with the Accreditation Program, the 101 courses provide students with over 130 hours of engaging and memorable course material that can help prepare them for academic achievement testing.
Most people who use the 101 courses find the content to be completely satisfying, and those who complete the 130 hours of study find it to be more than enough to help them pass academic tests.

These DVDs are a great addition to my son's science curriculum. It has been a little while since I have had much interaction with high school chemistry, so it is helpful for him to have "live" instruction along with his book work. He followed the suggestions for watching in the handbook.

Great Christian Worldview

I bought this DVD to accompany the PAC curriculum for my 15 year old son. We do the PAC Mon-Wed and this DVD on Thur. It's a great change up after the bookwork the first part of the week. When they are turned on the whole family ends up watching them. These are interesting, engaging and teach a solid Christian Worldview which is a nice addition to our Science giving my son a well rounded education. I highly recommend these and will be using them with my younger sons.

I am pretty interested in chemistry. This is very interesting, the videos are good. I think they did a really good job making the CDs. Most chemistry books and videos are kind of hard to understand. This one is easier. It makes me want to be a chemist when I grow up.

Very Fun and Interesting

I have a unique 8 year old child who is obsessed with elements and the periodic table. He has read every book on chemistry and elements in the children's section of the library. He picked this out for himself and has loved it. He watched it in his free time. He woke up early to watch it instead of cartoons, and watched it all day Saturday. He animatedly told us about his favorite parts. He is currently watching the videos for a second time. I just found out that there are a series of quizzes on the cd that you can print out. He is excited to start over and take a quiz after each lesson.
