Not many games lend themselves as well to large groups as does BuzzWord. Even your typical non-gamers will have a hard time resisting this clever verbal game that pits one team against another.
To begin, a word is announced that must be a part of each answer, for example, the word "apple." When the sand timer is flipped, the clues come flying. In this case clues may include "lump in a man's throat" (Adam's apple); New York's nickname (the Big Apple); the object of my affection (the apple of my eye); and seven other phrases. Every correct answer garners one point. With only forty-five seconds to complete your answers to questions ranging from easy to quite difficult, the game moves quite briskly and can get a bit boisterous, making it an ideal icebreaker. Any phrases missed, the opposing team has an opportunity to capture. The game ends when one team has fifty points.
BuzzWord is perfect for family reunions, large church gatherings, and anywhere else a crowd gathers. The game includes 400 sets of clues on 200 sturdy cards, as well as ten scoring Cards, 45-second sand timer, scoreboard, marker, and rules.
