Timberdoodle's review
Bloco Marine Creatures Set: Make a white shark, a hammerhead shark, an octopus, a hungry piranha, a tropical fish, and the curious abyssal fish with this quality foam building set. Includes 181 foam pieces, thirty-eight plastic connectors, sixteen plastic caps, and an instruction sheet.

About Bloco construction sets:
It's not just me, research concludes that children learn a lot by designing and building things. Many skills are rooted in the act of construction: creation, examination, and problem solving are but a few. Construction will encourage your child to separate complicated tasks into manageable bites. The nature of building complex models encourages children to think about multiple steps of assembly at the same time, particularly when working with gears or fussy pieces.

Construction Should be a Required Curriculum
Based on my own engineering background/bias, I believe that construction is one of the most valuable educational processes available, and that both learning to build and learning by what has been built should be a part of every family's curriculum.

Creation-Based Construction
It may seem as though some children have zero interest in building and creating. Possibly it is because most construction kits emphasize vehicles, machines, and other man-made innovations. If your child’s inclinations are more creation-based, if he would rather build a realistic animal or a life-like fish, consider Bloco with its uniquely-shaped, high-density foam and specialized plastic connectors that both link and rotate pieces.

Flat Models and Extraordinary 3-D Animals
This one-of-a-kind construction kit allows your child to build simple, flat models and extraordinary, 3-D animals. Each set comes with detailed illustrated designs, and sets can be combined to allow the creation of even more interesting creatures.

Many Sets Make an Assortment of Creatures
Colorful and appealing when completed, these are not simple slap-together kits. Our experience is that younger children, unless highly motivated, are initially going to find some of the more complex models "impossible." Instead of becoming irritated, rejoice; it means that by the time your child completes the projects he will have learned something and you will have gotten your money’s worth.

Combine Sets to Create Even More
Many Bloco sets make an assortment of creatures, from sharks to wildcats to zebras, each one worthy of display. All sets are fully compatible.

My children were very excited December 25, 2013

My children were very excited about the games we purchased. My 3 year old especially loved the Marine Creatures Bloco because the Robot Invasion is a favorite part of his preschool curriculum. Thank you for your great product selection!

Bloco Sea Creatures May 31, 2012
Reviewer: Daisy
I bought this for my son when he was in kindergarten, and while he really liked it, it was too difficult for him to do some of these projects on his own. And some of the marine creatures were more prone than others to falling apart, which could be a bit frustrating. But he's almost eight now, and the other day he completed even the most difficult project without any help from me (or frustration on his part). These are great toys; they encourage creativity, are soft (so stepping on a runaway piece isn't the painful experience that walking on a hidden Lego is!), and very versatile. After almost three years, my son is still happy to take out the Bloco set, so I would definitely consider getting another set someday.

Anti-Boredom Device. October 10, 2011
Reviewer: Virginia Morgan from Greenville, IL United States
My kids have been playing with Bloco sets for years. We just mix them all up in a big plastic tub and go crazy. They stand up to being stepped on and chewed by the baby. They have gone through the wash in a pocket and been run over by the car. They are light enough to sneak a few in your purse, and heavyweight enough to build a bizarre giant skyscraper!! In short, the best Christmas/birthday/eating-the-crust-on-my-bread present EVER!

Neatest product I have ever seen! October 27, 2008
Reviewer: Becky T. from Melrose, FL
These foam puzzles are great.  I had to assist some of my younger kids with the directions but they loved it.  It was a lot of fun to use them for "Art time" in our schooling.  I think they are the neatest product I have ever seen.
