Beginning with the Little Guys
If you have the privilege, begin your role of teaching parent with the little guys. They are the most authentic of students, their expectations are exceedingly low, they are amazed at your unending wisdom, and they are thrilled just to be in your presence. Teaching this age is pure pleasure!

Big Skills for Little Hands
Brighter Child makes the experience even more delightful with Big Skills for Little Hands, a series of four books. If only the rest of your teaching could be as effortless. The Big Skills for Little Hands series supports national standards for early childhood by working to build necessary motor skills. Each paperback book is over 200 colorful pages and includes a write-and-wipe laminated page in the back of the book.

Reviews
"Is this book worth the cost? Absolutely! Take it from a mom who has browsed all there is out there, and even spent money on several products. For the price, this book delivers at least double what other companies are offering..."

"when the book arrived, i was pleasantly surprised with the great quality of the paper. we had a workbook similar to this for Zoe but the paper wasn't as nice. also, each page is blank on the back, and they rip out of the book very easily..."

"The I Can Trace book is labeled for 2-6 year olds. I think it is a bit too much for most 2 year olds - at least new 2 year olds. At almost 3 the book is one that Judah will be growing into, and yet has simple tracing (such as the first page, shown above) that he is able to work on it right now..." Video Review Too!

"My main regret is that I didn't discover this book sooner. Up to now I've mainly been pulling freebie tracing stuff off the internet, and it's been nowhere near as fun or as logically-flowing as this. And the book provides lots of helpful tips that I wish I'd had sooner..."

"...we looked at many of the pages - they are bright and colorful, but not too busy. She was able to trace with her finger after I showed her an example and then she was off and running on her own..."

"It is a huge book and the paper is thick. It has a bonus section in the back so you can see and try the other books in this series. The colored pencils are wonderful- they are of a much better quality than what you can buy at Walmart...."

Huge books size? Nope, it was perfect! January 12, 2013
    Reviewer: popsicalbaby
The books reached us just 2 days ago & my first reaction was HUGE BOOKS!!!' ... Boy I was glad after the first day! My 25months old is enjoying it as much as I did. Not only did I have a guide to help introduce him these skills, they are colorful & refreshing to look at. For a little one who wouldn't sit still for too long, it is just perfect since it will only take very little time to do. One might think it will be extremely quick until you start describing the pictures, naming everything in it & even ask question like "who eats the cheese/so were is seal's whiskers " ... It really is helping his learning with such simple yet clever designs in lots of ways. After he finishes a page, we will hold his hand, write his name as well as date before he heads to the fridge & take a magnet to put it up proudly for daddy to see when daddy gets home from work. =) What joy!

Great fine motor skills practice August 8, 2012

I'm very happy with this set. Each page just takes a few minutes to complete making it easy to fit in throughout the school day for either a quick break or for little ones to do while mom is working with older students. Each page is perforated making them easy to display all over the house. I also like the progression of difficulty as you work through each book.

Big Skills for Little Hands (set of 5) June 1, 2012

Big Skills for Little Hands (set of 5) by School Specialty Children's Publishing is a fun product that is a great way to keep little ones busy while olders are doing school, or keep little ones busy in the car, and help teach them valuable skills. I love how brainless i need to be when using these- take them out and do them. Having a lot of kids i appreciate the variety, these have lasted through several for us. The only reason i docked them a star was because they are a bit pricier than I'd like. However, they are pretty unique.

Great series, but a repeat of the toddler set October 10, 2011
Reviewer: Emily from Vancouver, WA United States
My 3 year old was very excited to get this new set of books, since she finished the toddler "I Can.." books.  We were pretty disappointed to discover that the toddler books are just the easier projects out of these books!  So, she has already done a number of the pages of each book.  For the price, I would have hoped they were unique projects.  I think we will just save this set for child #2, and skip the toddler books for her, now that we know they are the same activities.  A little misleading that way...

Other than that issue, they are a great resource for all kinds of motor skill practice, and some of the activities are super cute!  My girl loves this stuff!

Great book set! October 3, 2011
Reviewer: Heather Johnson from Madison, FL United States
I bought the Big Skills for Little Hands set for my 2 year old. I was surprised at the quality of the books and the thickness of the paper! My daughter loved the bright colors and pictures on the pages. We are just starting to work on these skills like tracing and I took my book and made copies of the first few pages so she would be able to do the same tracing pattern a few times before going on to the next page. She loves it! An is even showing progress already and it's only been 2 weeks!
I am very impressed with this set!
