Delighted with Bananagrams!! |

There are only two things that I don't like about Scrabble and Bananagrams solves them both! First, why does everyone have to wait for each other when you're playing? The game would be so much quicker if everyone could play at the same time, which they can in Bananagrams! And second, why is it that when you finally find the "perfect" place for, let's say, a five letter word somebody is sure to fill it up with a two letter word? That has always cost me the game.... Well when I got Bananagrams I was delighted to find that any games I lost would now be my own fault since each player has their own "workspace". Thanks for the great game--and all the wins I've had now. :-)

Our family is always looking for new games to play together. We purchased several family games at once this time. The most enjoyed and used game of all of them has been Bananagrams. The game has letter tiles and involves placing them in crossword style. It is portable, easy to set up, and able to be used by the entire family at one time. We have enjoyed Scrabble in the past but rarely have enough time to set up and finish an entire game. Also, it is hard to pair up different age groups to play at once. With Bananagrams our 5 year old feels comfortable playing at the same time as our 23 year old. Each game only takes 5-10 minutes and everyone makes their plays at the same time, ensuring that no one gets bored. It is a great tool for our 5 and 10 year old boys to learn spelling as well. Several visitors have entered in on our fun (prodded by my children) and have enjoyed the game as much as we have. I do not know if this would be good to take to play at a restaurant or other place as I would be afraid of losing the pieces. We have not ventured that risk yet. The game is well worth the investment.

Bananagrams has been a real asset for spelling review at our house. Each week my two kids beg me to use them. We put all the Bananagrams face up on the table. Then I give each child a word from their own spelling list to spell and then say "Go!". They then race to spell their word first using the tiles in the pile. They love this game, and it can easily be "weighted" so that my children who are two years apart in age can compete fairly.

I gave this to my brother's kids for Christmas last year (ages 12, 10, 8 and 6). They all enjoy playing it over and over. The 12 year old (girl) has even called it her favorite game.
