We have been using this for over a year with my kids ages 6 & 7. Some questions are easy and some are harder but it opens up the opportunity to discuss and learn. We have also started using it in our Adult Bible Study of the book of Acts. Very helpful. Can make it work with young kids and it can also grow with them.

Our family has really enjoyed Balancing the Sword. Because the questions are broken up by chapters, it's easy to adjust the length of study to accommodate the varying attention spans of the children. And it's easy to find where you left off. They're also very beautiful books. It would be a wonderful treasure for an adult child to carry into their own families one day, with the answers and notes that they had written over the years of studying the scriptures.

We love these books. They are great at helping you get the CONTENT of the bible. The writer also has many great suggestions for how to use the book most efficiently. It's a wonderful tool.

Balancing the Sword is a wonderful Bible curriculum. It is thorough, does not teach any doctrine that would limit it to a particular denomination, is applicable to multi-grade levels and leads to wonderful devotional and application oriented teachings as you learn "what the Bible says". I highly recommend it. I bought both Volumes and think both are excellent!

Balancing the Sword is for a serious fill in the blank kind of kid or adult. It overwhelmed even my most dedicated workbook oriented child. I think it is very thorough, but there is so much out there I think is better.
