Great for multiage learning January 15, 2013

I purchased the Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georiga books to match the states my kids have lived in and could hardly be happier. The books include much more than the title indicates which impressed me. An overview of each states' history is included in addition to the history of the primary sights and symbols. As far as an art supplement is concerned, the books use a fairly typical step by step approach that is both illustrated and described. On a few of the more complex drawings, a few more "in between" steps would be helpful for younger or less artistically inclined learners. We are going to use them for a quick state history course with the kids (5-12yrs) and they are looking very forward to it.

Just what I was looking for ... September 26, 2011
Reviewer: Christie from Bend, OR United States
I purchased the Oregon book of "A Kid's Guide to Drawing America" to enrich our history and geography study we did over the summer.  I prefer when my kids can draw something rather than just color in a printable from the internet.  This is a hardback book with attractive pages. There are probably 10 drawings to copy, and each drawing has a one-page description explaining its importance in the state.  Some of the drawings completed for our state were the state animal, state bird, flag, capitol building, map, and covered wagon.  My children, ages 9 and 11, were able to complete the drawing instruction on their own, narrated what they read about each item, and were quite proud of their completed works displayed in their lapbooks.
